Yes I did!
I went to Chicago (in the state of Illinois) for a one day trip, organized by the HR dept of CP. Woke up at 3 am in the morning of 5th June for the bus. The bus picked us up at 4am and we started the west-bound journey. It took us around 6 hours to reach Chicago and everyone slept thru the journey except for me and Pei Yin. We were too excited to be on the bus together (it is a long story....)
Chicago is defintely very different from the place I am working now. Lots of high rise buildings and cars and people. Amidst the sophisticated architecture of the skyline there are some buildings which have a touch of the old European. Sometimes I feel like I am in an old city of Europe.
Besides it being the first trip I have outside of the state where I am working at (Ohio), alot of interesting things happened throughout the trip.
First of all, while we were looking for our way to the tourist information centre, we saw YAO MING!!! YES!! The super tall guy who hails from China and plays NBA (not sure which team though). We saw him walking on the street and we were on the same side of the street!! Didn't where I get the courage but I actually approached him and asked him if it is ok if we take a picture with him because we have heard so much about him and we are from Malaysia (means we come from a faraway land and we may not step into the land of America for the next few years), but he just said it is not convenient and walked away....... He is really tall though.
Then we tried the famous pizza of Chiacago. Went to Giordano's (the name of the pizza restaurant) for the pizza and it was good. We had a very filling lunch. Then we went to visit the Sears Tower which used to be the tallest building in the world. WE were at 103 storeys high above the ground!
We proceeded the Water Tower and the Hershey's shop. Here is one of the best moment of the whole trip, we went to The Cheescake Factory! It is actually a restaurant which serves food but it is also famous for its cheesecake. The cheesecakes are really really super nice! We ordered the Godiva Cheesecake, the original one and a Tiramisu Cheesecake and shared. The cheese is so rich but not too much. It is just nice and so smooth....(to sis: you will like it =]) We took the pictures of the cakes and our satifsfied look. We just didn't want to leave the place!
We wanted to go to the Millenium Park but there was not much time left. So we stayed in the city and took more pictures of the city, with the lights all on.
It is a nice trip and Chicago is a nice place to visit. As a picture speaks more than a thousand words, maybe you should check out the pictures to look at the city =]
Can't wait for my nest trip to the Niagaria Fall~~~~
p/s : Miss my family, you and my friends.
